Foggers

Ultimate Guide to Mosquito Foggers

What are Mosquito Foggers and how do they work?

A mosquito fogger is a device that creates a fog or vapor from an insecticide solution. The mist is then applied on foliage to repel and kill mosquitoes that come in contact with the sprayed area. Foggers are powered by propane (in the case of thermal foggers) or electricity (in the case of cold foggers). Just like with traps and zappers, foggers only target adult mosquitoes and do not kill eggs and larvae.

When should I use a fogger?

The sprayed area is mosquito free for about 12 hours. They are very effective but this is only a temporary solution, ideal before a backyard party for example. The insecticides used in foggers will kill more than mosquitoes, including beneficial insects, and therefore should be use with caution.
